2009-2010 State Superintendent's Student Advisory Council Application The Student Advisory Council is open to all students in Grades 9-12 regardless of gender, race, or academic standing. Participation is exempt under the ten-day activity rule. Completed applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009. The State Superintendent's Student Advisory Council is comprised of 50 members who provide input to the State Superintendent on key issues affecting school performance and reform. Members are advisors and act as liaisons between the State Department of Education and the students of Oklahoma. The Council meets three to four times a year and is representative of Oklahoma geographically and racially. Members range from freshmen to seniors and are selected on a competitive basis.
