The Oklahoma Department of Education
has several resources available to parents educating their children at
home. As state superintendent of public instruction it is my hope that
you will find this information we have here useful to you and your children.
Teaching to standards can be the PASSport
to your child's success. Access quality educational resources on the Internet
by going to PASSport
II, Oklahoma's updated online database of state curriculum standards.
In addition to reflecting recent changes in the Priority Academic Student
Skills (PASS), PASSport
IIs interface is easier to use in organizing the resources,
identifying activities, building lesson plans and using the power of the
Internet to enhance your childs education.
We encourage you to take advantage
of the many resources available online or for purchase in the SDE Documents
Office. For example, the state core curriculum, Priority
Academic Students Skills 2000, is available in the Departments
web site, or by calling (405) 521-2293. In addition, our Curriculum
Links contains a host of links to subject-area resources for lesson
plans and student activities. Also provided for your information
and use are the current graduation requirements for Oklahoma public school students. However, if additional information
is needed, please contact Accreditation, State Department of Education,
at (405) 521-3333.
